Being a teacher I always look forward to developing new skills so that I can share that with my students. In this currently locked down situation where I am far away from my students I am trying to be hopeful and plan about the future. My journey with Girls × Tech Bootcamp started with this thought. In my daily teaching life I often use attractive designs in my lessons. I felt the necessity to learn digital designing and make something according to my own taste. This bootcamp opened a new door for me. I learnt that designing can be so much fun and easy at the same time. I came to know about Canva and its user friendly functioning system. I learnt how to design resumes and beautiful presentations. I am really grateful to Girls × Tech for this opportunity. This will surely enhance my experience as a teacher to express my stories gracefully.

First of all I want to thank Girls × Tech for such an amazing opportunity and the initiative you took for girl empowerment. After the design bootcamp I was able to design social media posts for my company on Earth day. I was able to design my professional resume, presentations with less effort and the best thing about Canva is they have lots of free images and inspirations for whatever you wanted to work on. The boot camp helped to add up a new skill to the resume. I am looking forward to more bootcamps like these in future. ‘. This is a very great opportunity for all the girls to improve yourself in Tech and enter into the stream of technology. I am an employee of a startup where I do get a chance to work on projects but because of lack of knowledge I get a low pay. I want to tell every girl it’s never too late to learn anything new. It’s a matter of interest. Brush up your skills and be more creative and show everyone that you are not less than anybody.

As the Founder of a startup social enterprise, advocacy forms a large part of the work we do. It is imperative that we are able to communicate effectively with our partners and community. The Girls x Tech bootcamp gave me the rare opportunity to learn graphic designing – a practical skill that now enhances our communication strategy and has opened us to more partnerships. I strongly believe that when families in Nigeria are equipped with digital skills it will translate into reduced inequalities in our society. Now, as a Girls x Tech Champion, I leverage the Girls x Tech community to bring digital skills to girls especially in low-income communities.

I want to thank Girls × Tech for organizing an excellent Bootcamp. It was very worthwhile on many fronts. I truly enjoyed the program and have already started implementing many of the tools and techniques learned during the training. I have been using Canva for quite some time but never was a pro in it or know anything about design. I feel the workshop has given me enough to explore my mind with design and has also made me a lot more curious about experimenting with the templates and material.
I would also like to appreciate the insights that were provided, and the time you guys took following the session to provide additional feedback on the assignments. This was by far the highest value two-day session I have experienced in design workshops.

Thank you Girls x Tech for the opportunity to be featured on your platforms as a bootcamp graduate. I was ecstatic when I was contacted to share my experience. This was my first time participating in a virtual bootcamp with Girls × Tech. I must commend the organizers because everything went smoothly and they kept within the training time frame for each segment during the bootcamp. I was successful in creating an impressive presentation named “Escape to Belize” where I showcased sceneries, various cuisines and my Garifuna culture. The Girls × Tech team was very cooperative & understanding and this helped me overcome these obstacles. Girls x Tech ensures every member is a part of their support groups on Facebook, Linkedin & Instagram which is very helpful. I definitely support the Girls x Tech initiative to educate every girl in India. I am most grateful to have been accepted into the program especially since I reside in another country. This shows that no girl will be excluded which makes me happy. I highly recommend this organization to other people, especially females, who are interested in honing their skills to enter the Technology Industry.

I’ve always had keen interest in designing but being both a teacher and a development worker, I never had that much time to spend over illustrator.
This workshop introduced me with some amazing features of Canva which is very much time saving and the basic designing theories taught in the workshop gave me guidelines to start designing by answering my “how”. I think this skill is not only limited to any particular profession like designers rather it can simply polish anyone’s work needed in this century. Thank you Girls x Tech Team for this opportunity.
